Student paramedic sent 'creepy' message from airport employee after checking in

A woman was left "terrified" when she received a text message from a member of an airline staff while solo travelling. Hannah Smethurst, 23, was flying from Abu Dhabi to Manchester and was contacted by the unnamed man after he used the airline's database to find her contact details after seeing her passport.

Hannah said she panicked when she saw the message he sent her on Whatsapp. The man had told her that he had seen her waiting to board her flight.

The third-year paramedic student, from Lancashire, said: "I was at Abu Dhabi Airport when I received a text message from an unknown foreign number. I was taken aback by it. It was terrifying being alone," Hannah told the Mirror.
