Stuck Ben Stokes visits Manchester Nandos three times as visa issue spoils family trip to US

Ben Stokes has spent days stranded in Manchester after a visa issue prevented the cricketer from joining his family in the US.

The national test team captain was unable to fly across the pond with his family earlier this week and spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday entertaining himself in the city - including eating at Nandos.

And on Friday, the 32-year-old shared a story on Instagram to suggest he had still not left - a video showing him walking to the tune of The Proclaimers’ I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

It is unclear what the visa complication is that has stopped Stokes joining up with his family, who have been spending time - without him - in Disneyland.

While stating he was “missing my gang” in sharing a photo of wife and children next to Mickey Mouse, he has been doing his best to make the most of his time in Manchester.

His updates on how he has been passing his time have been entertaining his millions of followers online.

On Tuesday, Stokes walked 22km, a half marathon distance, over four hours and on Wednesday he was at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Sheffield United

The cricketer has also been to the cinema and has eaten in Nandos three times.

“[They are] making a good customer out of me,” he said of his repeated visits. “Third visit in three days.”
