Pay strikes at two County Durham car bearing manufacturers are set to disrupt supply chains for automakers, including VW, Toyota and Renault, Unite union has warned.
NSK Bearings and AKS Precision Ball, in Peterlee, will begin strike action on March 23 with the possibility of industrial action intensifying if a new offer is not put forward.
Around 200 workers, including the entire shopfloor workforce at the two factories, both owned by NSK Europe, will take strike action every Wednesday and Saturday for the next six weeks over an 'insulting' 1.6% pay offer.
