Striker 'rejected' Nottingham Forest transfer offer as controversial claim made

Nottingham Forest have reportedly been rejected by Dinamo Zagreb forward Sandro Kulenović.

The 23-year-old looks set to leave the Croatian club this summer, having scored 12 goals and assisted six in 37 appearances last term. His performances have caught the eye of clubs, with Forest said to be among them.

According to Turkish outlet Karadeniz Gazetesi (per Sport Witness ), Forest made a bid for the striker, which the player himself has chosen to turn down. There are no details about the offer reportedly made by Forest, other than it being unsuccessful.

That's apparently because he would prefer a move to Turkish club Trabzonspor, controversially called a 'bigger' club than Forest by the media outlet in Turkey. If the player is angling for a move to Turkey, it is likely to take a smaller, incremental step forward in his career rather than jumping to the Premier League.

Kulenović's agent Branko Hucika has a client at Trabzonspor, which is also likely to be a factor in the deal. It is clear that Forest have other targets, though, with Swansea striker Joel Piroe among those linked in recent days and weeks.
