Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has taken to social media for the first time since her heartbreaking cancer diagnosis emerged, as the 32-year-old star was beaming in a new snap on her Instagram page.
It comes as the professional dancer revealed last month she had found a lump on her breast in April. It was just a day before she was due to jet off to the Maldives for her honeymoon with long-term partner Ben Jones, reports the Mirror.
And appearing for the first time since the news emerged, Amy was pictured in good spirits with her nephew at a family party in a new Instagram snap.
"Our darling nephew Jacob is 1! Got him his first set of wheels . But he’s more impressed with soaking his outfit with his outdoor rain forest water table! We love you Jacob! Happy first birthday party darling," Amy captioned the post to her 353k followers.
She went on to share a series of photos of her little nephew, who was dressed in the cutest dickie bow and braces, making the most of the summer weather at the garden party as the tot splashed around in an outdoor toy water pool.
Former BBC contestant Sara Davies said: "Omg he’s looking so grown up!!! Where has that year gone!?!," whilst another added: "Cannot believe he is 1!! That year has flown by!!"
"Happy birthday Jacob, Also Amy you look really well," penned another fan, with someone else writing: "happy birthday to jacob! hope your doing ok also xxx"
It comes as Amy opened up in a candid post on her Instagram account last Wednesday on some news which she admitted wasn't "easy to share" with everyone.
"I've got some news which isn't easy to share," she wrote.
"I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but I am determined to get back on that dance floor before you know it. Welsh love Amy X."
The same day as the news broke, Amy who joined Strictly in 2017, conducted an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine where she opened up on receiving the daunting news and "hadn't thought it possible" at developing it at her age.
She told the publication: "You just don't ever think it's going to happen to you. I hadn't thought it was possible to get breast cancer at my age. My mum has had breast cancer, but she had it at a later age, in her 50s."
