Strictly Come Dancing's Will Mellor has opened up about fears he had with regards to his knees before entering the coveted dancing competition, worried about whether or not he 'would get through the whole competition'.
The 46-year-old Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps actor opened up about past footballing injuries and subsequent operations on Thursdays instalment of Strictly: It Takes Two, appearing alongside dance partner Nancy Xu and being grilled by a hosting Janette Manrara.
The three started off by recapping last weekend's performance, in which Will and Nancy Charlestoned their way to the top of the Strictly leader board, before quickly turning to a photo uploaded by the actor on social media.

Pulling up a snap of Will sporting heavy strapping on his knees under his lavish all-black tuxedo, Janette said: "Well you really looked that part on the dancefloor, but you posted this picture of what was going on underneath. I especially love the mix of colours there.
"But how are your knees, are they alright?"
To which bluntly Will replied: "No they're knackered. I'm getting on aren't I? I shouldn't be doing what I'm doing.
"But you know, I was always a bit afraid of if I would get through the whole competition with my knees the way they are, from old football injuries and operations and stuff. But, the team, the physio team, they've really looked after me and I've protected them as much as I could.
"And I've done alright and they're holding up - but you know, I just posted that because people think it's glamourous. Well it's not behind the scenes!"
Will's comments come after he previously opened up about 'not being able to walk' after each performance. Speaking to OK in October, Will said: "For that minute and a half on the dance floor I can be anybody, but after that I'm wrecked.
"I'm not sexy at all when I get home from dancing. I can hardly walk. I'm like Steptoe when I come through the door. My wife sees me hobble up the stairs and get straight into the bath."
Will suffered a cruciate ligament injury which required surgery to put right in the past, but has pleaded that he is 'not using it as an excuse' and he is 'not trying to make the routines easier'.
