Will Mellor has spoken out following his emotional appearance on Strictly Come Dancing's It Takes Two on Monday night.
The 46-year-old actor took the time to thank his supporters and tell fans he "gave it everything" after he was voted out of Strictly Come Dancing – narrowly missing out on a place in the final.
After his elimination was aired on Monday – in a schedule shakeup due to the FIFA World Cup – Will and his professional dance partner Nancy Xu appeared on the BBC show's spin-off It Takes Two.
Will was seen wiping away tears as Nancy paid tribute to the Two Pints Of Lager actor and gushed over their "amazing" Strictly journey – which pulled on the heartstrings of viewers at home.
Now, speaking in a video after the emotional appearance, Will has broken his silence.
Looking downcast before forcing a smile in a clip posted to his Instagram page, he said: "You alright? I just got home from doing Strictly It Takes Two.
"Obviously you all know now that sadly I got voted out in the semi final and didn't make the final – fell at the final hurdle.
"Sorry about that for everyone who has been voting for me, I've given it everything I've got, I tried my best. It wasn't enough.
"But thank you all so much for your messages of support and your votes, and everybody who got behind me, I really appreciate it.
"It means a lot and when you're in that Strictly bubble that's all you think about, you're training every day and it's on your mind.
"Everyone is supporting you, you really want to do well for them as well and my family, and I tried, I gave it everything.
"Thank you all so much, I just wanted to do a little video to say all of that. Have a good Christmas everyone, see you in a bit."
As he shared the clip on his page, he wrote in the caption: "My @bbcstrictly journey is over! Thank you so much for all your support. Xx".
Will, who had hoped to lift the Glitterball trophy for his beloved mum, was soon flooded with supportive messages in the comments as Gorka Marquez's partner Gemma Atkinson wrote: "There was tears in our house last night Mia was gutted bless her. You did Amazing will! Should be very proud, and you took me right back to my clubbing days with your dance!! Loved it!"
While Paddy McGuinness added: "Fantastic pal. Loved watching you in Blackers."
And a fan penned: "You were brilliant Will! You deserved to go through. Anton was the only honest judge this week."
"You should’ve gone through, Anton was absolutely right. Gutted for you and Nancy, you’ve both been amazing," a second added.
And a third wrote: "Voted for you and you did amazing. You should have gone through to the final, completely agree with Anton".
