Strictly Come Dancing star Tyler West branded Helen Skelton 'savage' as he shared a glimpse at the backstage antics on the live tour. The Kiss FM DJ and Countryfile host are currently on the road with several of their fellow Strictly 2022 alumni as the BBC One show dazzles audiences in arenas across the country.
The hit dance contest's latest winner Hamza Yassin as well as Will Mellor, Ellie Simmonds, Fleur East and Molly Rainford are all performing to packed out crowds on the Strictly Live tour, which is hosted by former pro dance Janette Manrara and also included the show's judges - Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood.
And while backstage in Manchester at the AO Arena on Saturday night (January 28), Tyler, 26, captured the moment that Helen, 39, made a stinging remark to one of the show's dancers, Neil Jones.
Tyler was filming the live show's leaderboard which showed him sitting in second place with a score of 29 following their first routine behind Stockport-born actor Will who had received a perfect 30 from the judges putting him top at the halfway mark of the show. "Look at that, we're second," Tyler was heard saying about himself and dance partner Dianne Buswell.
But Neil, who was standing backstage, could be heard saying: "You're not top," to which Tyler fired back: "Alright, don't be negative!" He did try and backtrack and say: "You have been top quite a lot," before Helen swooped in.
The mum-of-three, who looked glam in a white satin dress with silver sparkles and a black and white cape while also donning black gloves, said: "At least you're on the leaderboard," to which Neil's jaw dropped and Tyler laughed. "He was in my dance. He was actually in my dance though," Tyler then tried to say in support. But he added in the clip's caption: "@helenskelton THE SAVAGE!"
However, Tyler was already 'fuming' with Neil after he pulled a prank at their city centre hotel room on Saturday morning. Speaking to the camera, the radio star said: "At 8am this morning this guy thought it would be funny to send the whole of the room service breakfast menu to wake me up without me knowing."
A video played alongside which Tyler had filmed showing the array of dishes that had arrived at his room. "I thought it was a double show so it's important to keep your strength up. You're a very muscular lad" Confirming he recieved seven different plates, Tyler then whispered into the camera: "How do we get him back? I have to get him back. I'm fuming!"
