Strictly's Helen Skelton takes Gorka to hometown as he meets family

Strictly's Helen Skelton has shared a series of behind the scenes snaps as she took her professional dancing partner, Gorka Marquez, to her home town in Cumbria.

It comes after the pair found themselves in murky waters after Saturday night's live performance where they were left until the final three couples on stage before finding out they were safe.

Helen was looking worried as they made it down to the final three dance couples on stage, before Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced that it would be James Bye and Amy Dowden who would be facing Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the dance-off.

The Countryfile presenter recently admitted Gorka has been surprised by her support. Helen was raised on a dairy farm just outside of Appleby and the people in the town are all getting behind her as she competes in the BBC dancing competition.

Posters are being plastered in shop windows and homes in support of the Strictly Come Dancing star, in which she was quizzed about during a catch up with Claudia Winkleman on Saturday night's show.

Claudia said to Helen: "Helen, I believe your local coffee house is now covered in billboards of the two of you?"

Helen told her: "We buy a lot of coffee there. At first you were really surprised weren't you [Gorka]. It's Cumbria, I'm related to half of them. People have been so nice to us so we're very grateful, thankyou."

And now the mother-of-three has taken Gorka to see for himself as she shared some hilarious snaps of him "making himself at home" in the coffee shop.

She shared a clip of Gorka chatting to the locals as she spied on him from outside the cafe, she captioned the clip: "Totally makes himself at home in my home town, casually joining people for coffee" alongside a laughing face emoji.

Helen followed it with another post from their trip as she shared a selfie of herself, Gorka and her uncle. She penned: "I wasn't joking when I said I'm related to half the town, coffee break and bump in to Uncle George."

Gorka Marquez also took to Instagram after the tense results went out on Saturday night to thank fans for keeping them in the competition.

He penned: "That was scary... Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us. It means the world! Grateful to get to dance for another week with Helen Skelton."

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC1 on Saturday, November 5.

Strictly It Takes Two returns every weekday on BBC2.
