Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice rubbishes Richie Anderson ‘feud’ claims in direct appeal to viewers

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has spoken out on the rumours surrounding his relationship with dance partner Richie Anderson.

Giovanni, who lifted the Glitterball trophy on the last series of the hit BBC competition with Rose Ayling-Ellis, addressed viewers directly during the latest episode of It Takes Two on Wednesday. The dancer was quick to rubbish claims that he and presenter Richie aren’t getting along as he appeared alongside his partner on the sofa, The Mirror reports .

Speaking on the show, Giovanni said: "We're having a good time - we're definitely having a good time. Obviously it's a dance competition at the end of the day, so we have to learn something.

“But there is no problem - where is the camera? There is no problem between us, we are having a good time,” he insisted directly into the camera as Richie laughed and placed his hand on his shoulder. “So forget about what you are writing - it's not true.”

Giovanni’s defiant statement follows a similar message from Richie earlier this week , with the star posting a heartfelt message thanking his pro teacher for his guidance in the rehearsal room. Richie wrote on Instagram: “A moment I’ll never forget and so lucky I got to share it with @pernicegiovann1.

“Thank you Gio for being the best teacher over the past fortnight. Plenty of feedback from the judges to take on board, can’t wait to get back in the training room.”

Strictly bosses have even stepped in to hit back at the claims, with a spokesperson telling MailOnline: “Talk of them not getting on is nonsense. They are having such a laugh and were thrilled at the reaction on Saturday night.”
