Strictly fans excited as Gavin and Stacey's Nessa announced as 'new contestant'

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing were excited but confused as the latest 'new contestant' was announced.

A BBC social media account shared the 'latest update' for the ballroom dancing show. Taking to Twitter, they announced that character Nessa from much-loved sitcom Gavin and Stacey would be next to join the line-up of celebrity faces.

BBC Three posted : "Oh! What's occurring? Nessa is bringing Barry Island to the ballroom as the 20th celebrity contestant confirmed for Strictly 2022." They added an image of the TV character, who is played by Ruth Jones, against the Strictly backdrop.
