Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez speaks out as he is consoled by Gemma Atkinson after final loss

Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez was consoled by his fiancée Gemma Atkinson following Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal’s controversial win in the show's final.

Gorka, who was paired with Helen Skelton, struggled to hide his emotions as Hamza and Jowita claimed the Glitterball trophy on Saturday night (December 17). Their win was controversial as they were the lowest-scoring dancers on the night of the final.

Viewers spotted that the Spaniard was clearly unhappy and stony-faced as the winner was announced. Gorka has reached the final in the last three series of Strictly but every time he has gone home empty-handed.

He was later seen making his way back to his hotel room with his partner Gemma Atkinson with whom he has a young daughter called Mia.

Posting on her story, the couple could be seen walking down a hotel corridor late at night. Gemma, a radio presenter and former actress, said to fans: "We are here. We're back." Gorka then said: "Let's go to bed", before Gemma added: "We've just got back. We are gutted. I'm gutted."

In a sweet moment, Gorka then revealed to fans his consolation prize - a crown which he said he is going to give to his beloved daughter Mia. He said: "That is my trophy", with Gemma adding: "Who need a glitterball trophy when you've got a crown?"
