Strictly Christmas special spoiler leaks result as fans declare 'justice' has been done

It is one of the most watched TV shows every year on Christmas Day, but the result of this year's Strictly festive special has already been leaked online, after filming took place on Wednesday evening. And, after seeing who won, a number of fans declared that 'justice had been done.'

Over the years the BBC show has gone all out for its Christmas show. In the past it was largely returning contestants who took their places on the line-up as they bid to win the Glitterball trophy, with the likes of Jill Halfpenny, Louis Smith and Harry Judd all returning to the ballroom to snatch Yuletide glory.

However, the formats has also been altered over the years to, to give some big names a one-off shot at some Strictly glory, with the likes of Sheila Hancock, Elaine Paige, Rochelle Humes, JB Gill and Fabrice Muamba all talking to the dancefloor. Two contestants from the current series also took a spin in the ballroom in a past Christmas special, with Helen Skelton, still in the running for victory this year, partnering Artem Chigvintsec in 2012 and Matt Goss being paired with Aliona Vilani a year later.

The 2021 Christmas special was won by singer Anne-Marie, who danced a cha cha cha with Graziano Di Prima to Feliz Navidad.

This year's Strictly Christmas special cast was only revealed last week with George Webster, Rosie Ramsey, Rickie Haywood-Williams, Alexandra Mardell, Larry Lamb and Nicola Roberts all competing, with Nicola supported in the audience by her Girls Aloud bandmates. The Christmas Special was filmed on Wednesday and by late Thursday morning, the Strictly spoiler account, responsible for leaking the results after the live show every week, had published the result after being informed of the outcome by a 'reliable' source.

We won't risk ruining people's Christmas by publishing the result, but upon seeing it, one fan declared that 'justice' had been done, while another, clearly surprised by what they read, responded: "Didn’t expect that."
