A stretch of the M74 will be closed for eight nights next month as resurfacing works take place.
The southbound carriageway will be closed between Thursday, October 6 and Monday, October 17 for the repairs, Transport Scotland has confirmed.
The closures have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic and are required to ensure road user and road worker safety.

The M74 southbound carriageway between Junction 2A Cambuslang (Fullarton Rd) and Junction 4 Maryville will be closed overnight for 8 nights, from 8 PM* on the days below to 6 AM the following days:
- Thursday 6 October 2022 & Friday 7 October 2022 (2 nights)
- Monday 10 October 2022 to Friday 14 October 2022 (5 nights)*
- Monday 17 October 2022 (1 night)
*On Tuesday 11 October and Wednesday 12 October the time of the start of the closure will be delayed to suit traffic flows on those nights.
As a result, the following slip roads and link road will also be closed:
- M74 southbound Junction 2A Cambuslang (Fullarton Rd) on slip road
- M74 southbound Junction 3 Carmyle on slip road
- M74 southbound Junction 3A Daldowie off slip road
- M74 southbound link road to M73 northbound at Junction 4 Maryville
The closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst essential road resurfacing works are undertaken and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. The road will reopen at 6 AM each morning.
Signed diversion routes will be in place during closures.
