Stranger Things trailer: Season 4 Part 2 teaser reveals new 'horrifying' threat

The trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 has dropped - and it looks epic.

The cult sci-fi series broke three big streaming records following the release of Season 4 Part 1, which became the most-watched English-language TV series on Netflix in its first week, with 335 million hours viewed in just seven days.

Viewers were left desperate for more as the season ended on a huge cliff hanger, as Nancy was caught by Vecna and trapped in the Upside Down.

Whilst her survival is still questionable, the latest trailer for the finale shows the character carrying a gun, meaning she must have managed to escape from the villain's grasp.

But, it certainly doesn't mean she - or any of the other Hawkins residents - are safe from the Upside Down. In fact, the 'chilling' trailer teases a new supernatural threat, a deadly explosion, and potential heartbreak for Robin and Steve. Basically, nobody is safe.

"It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins," Netflix said, in a statement sent to the Mirror.

"Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down".

Executive producer Shawn Levy says the finale will be 'cinematic and emotional' (Stranger Things/Netflix)

Speaking about the finale to the Hollywood Report, executive producer Shawn Levy says the ending will won't be anything less than a "deeply satisfying close in the final chapter".

“Having seen both those finale episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic,” he said. “Holy s**t, they are definitely a treat for the eyes, but they punch you right in the heart. So, that’s what I’ll say about that.”

You can watch Stranger Things episodes 408 and 409 exclusively on Netflix on July 1.
