Stormzy has showed that even the biggest artists still get starstruck at times.
The rapper, 29, was at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Sunday and watched on as Taylor Swift bagged four awards.
The singer-songwriter, 32, won Best Artist, Best Video and Best Pop. She also was handed the gong for Best Longform Video for her 10 minute version of All Too Well.
And taking to his Instagram Story, Stormzy admitted to his 3.2million followers he was desperate for a back-stage selfie with the Bad Blood artist. Starting a video after his performance on stage, the Hide & Seek singer enjoyed a drink and said: "Man's trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift.
"I'm looking for Taylor Swift. Taylor where are you? I want a selfie Taylor. I'm trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift. Man's running around."
After tagging the songstress in the clip, he posts another where he excitedly tells his fans he's about to meet her. Struggling to hold back his happiness, Stormzy gets make-up applied while beaming.
He then shared the selfie of the pair smiling at the camera as Taylor enjoyed a glass of wine, before he followed it up with a solo pic captioned: "So happy."
He also shared the snaps to his main page alongside a love heart emoji. Among those commenting on the post was Motsi Mabuse, who praised him for his persistence.
"Lol. You did it!!," she wrote. "Lesson of the day never give up !!! & we know Taylor don’t do selfies lol?"
Another fan gushed: "the collab we didn’t know we needed," and a third said: "Stormzy out here living his best life."
Stormzy got fans excited last week after announcing he is set to play at a one-off show for the All Points East festival which will be held in Hackney next August.
He shared a cartoon of himself thinking about his next gig and mused: "I was thinking what’s next cos we’ve done 3 O2s, shut that down.
"I said to the team we gotta do something bigger something better something different. We were having back to back meetings bouncing ideas.
"Then it hit me I started jotting down ideas thinking - live band need a live band. August 2023 a summer time thing outside for the people always for my people. So August 2023 Victoria Park more info coming soon….This Is What We Mean Day. Hard.”
