Airline ticket prices go up and down all the time, and finding a good deal used to mean spending an afternoon opening dozens of website tabs and comparing prices by hand. Thankfully, there's now an easier way.
ChatGPT, the popular AI assistant you may have heard about, can now search for flights on your behalf. Just type what you're looking for in plain English, the same way you'd describe it to a travel agent, and it does the searching for you. No complicated forms, no jumping between websites. Here's how to set it up and use it to find better flight deals faster.
1. Open the apps section

First, open ChatGPT and look for the word Apps in the menu on the left side of the screen. Click on it. This is where ChatGPT connects to other useful websites and services.
2. Find Skyscanner

Once you're in the Apps section, click the Lifestyle tab and scroll down until you see Skyscanner. Then click on it to open the page.
3. Connect to Skyscanner

Click the Connect button and when a small pop-up window appears, click Connect once more to confirm. This simply gives ChatGPT permission to search Skyscanner on your behalf.
That's all the setup done. Click Start Chat and you're ready to start searching for flights.
4. Search for flights

Instead of filling out departure city, destination, dates, and passenger count in separate form fields, just type what you're looking for in plain language. You don't need to use specific formatting or keywords, conversational language works fine.
Try prompts like:
"Find me the cheapest flights from New York to London in June."
"Show me flights from San Francisco to Tokyo with the shortest layovers."
"What are the cheapest round-trip flights from Chicago to Paris leaving next month?"
"Find morning flights from Boston to Miami on March 15th."
Once you've typed out your request click the arrow button to generate a response.
ChatGPT will then process your request, search Skyscanner's database, and return flight options with prices, airlines, departure times, and layover information.
