Stone pelting in Bijnor over loud music

BIJNOR: Two groups of people pelted stones and charged lathis at each other during a clash in village Saidpur Imma of Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh on late Wednesday night allegedly over a “loud music” being played at a wedding function, according to local police. Soon after the incident, police had to rush in reinforcements from several thanas to ensure that violence did not escalate.

However, when Dial112 PRV reached the spot, police, too, came under attack. Three cops including senior sub-inspector Jitendra Baliyan sustained injuries in the violent clash.

Circle officer Vijay Kumar Rana said, “Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. Situation is under control. We have registered a case against 20 people and have arrested four, so far. The probe is on.”
