'Stolen' Audi rams two patrol cars after police chase

The driver of a suspected stolen Audi rammed two police vehicles in a car chase.

The blue Audi Q3 sport came to the attention of officers on Utting Avenue East at around 7pm, on Wednesday, March 23. Patrols followed the suspected stolen car onto Queens Drive, near the junction with Muirhead Avenue. The car stopped on Bankfield Drive, where the driver then rammed into two police cars. Two passengers got out of the car and were detained by police.

However the driver of the car fled the scene into gardens on Town Row. Officers have described him as being white with short brown hair and wearing black shorts and a grey long-sleeved running top. The two passengers - a 64-year-old man, from West Derby, and a 24-year-old woman, from Old Swan - were arrested on suspicion of burglary and being carried in a stolen vehicle.
