Stevie Nicks’s Use of Rich Wood Paneling Sets the Ultimate Standard for Soulful, High-End Organic Living Room Design in 2026

Stevie Nicks.

When we think of Stevie Nicks, we picture ethereal layers, rich textures, and an unmistakable sense of soul. It should come as no surprise, then, that her Santa Monica home reflects this same ideology through design. This begins with her wood-wrapped living room, which is a masterclass in modern comfort.

Far from the stark (and often sterile) minimalism that often features around such coastal properties, Stevie has crafted a soulful living room wrapped entirely in the aforementioned warm wall paneling and a similar wood floor.

Despite overlooking the Pacific, the space has an Alpine cabin-style charm, brought to life by soft lighting and rich textures, including a faux-fur throw (like this one from Wayfair) and a neutral sofa (similar to this from McGee & Co.). It's a look that's luxurious, but possible to replicate, as designers explain.

Streamlined details

With its timeless silhouette and tailored detailing, this sectional is a forever piece. Built on a kiln-dried oak frame (for lasting durability), it features deep, down-wrapped cushions – for exceptional comfort without compromising on style.

Rich Texture

Crafted from premium natural materials, this Stevie-inspired rug is so soft and luxurious. Each piece is carefully made to showcase the material's rich texture and subtle natural sheen, creating a finish that feels as inviting as it looks.

Hand Painted

Similar to the sculpture in Stevie's living room, this sculptural piece is designed to evoke a sense of calm and balance. Inspired by the Om symbol, it represents unity and harmony, making it feel like much more than decor.

Cork inserts

I love pieces that work harder than they have to, and these acacia wood coasters do exactly that. Beautiful enough to leave on display, they stack neatly together when not in use and can just as easily hold jewelry, keys, or other small treasures.

Natural finish

This bowl is one of those timeless pieces you'll reach for again and again. I love it styled on a coffee table filled with decorative objects or seasonal accents, but it's just as beautiful when brought to the dining table for serving fruit. Its versatility is part of its charm.

VINTAGE

Once used as a traditional dairy vessel, this teakwood vase now makes a beautifully characterful accent for a living room. Its wood tones bring warmth, depth, and a sense of history to a space, making it a natural fit for a cabin-style space like Stevie's.

Alongside investing in the right pieces, achieving this exact balance of luxury and deep, soulful warmth requires a precise curation of textures and light. It's a philosophy shared by Jess Clark, an interior expert who designed a rustic cabin named Firefly in southern England. She explains that the secret is in how you layer the rest of the space.

'With the wooden paneling as a backdrop, keep paintwork and key furniture pieces earthy in tone to create a cozy and welcoming feel,' she says.

'Opt for textured fabrics like heavy linens and vintage velvets alongside reclaimed furniture finds to ground and add layers to the space.'

As Stevie's cozy living room shows, lighting is also vital. 'Consider wall lighting or lamps as opposed to harsh overheads to add an atmospheric glow, while handcrafted natural wall adornments... afford a foraged-in-nature feel,' Jess says.

'Also, for the coziest of evenings, when creating an authentic cabin aesthetic, where possible, the addition of an open fire is a must.'

In a design landscape craving more character, Stevie Nicks’s soothing use of natural wood wraps stands as a reminder that the most luxurious spaces are always the ones that possess an undeniable sense of soul.
