Steve Cooper sets clear Nottingham Forest stance with passionate response amid speculation

Head coach Steve Cooper has reiterated his commitment to Nottingham Forest amid speculation other clubs are casting admiring glances his way.

Reports have suggested the Reds could face a fight to keep hold of the Welshman ahead of next season, with a number of other teams said to be eyeing him up. It has been claimed managerial positions at Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, West Ham United, Southampton and Leeds United could all change in the summer, with Cooper under consideration by “at least two other clubs”.

The Forest boss has reiterated how much the job at the City Ground means to him, however. He gave an unequivocal response when asked about the potential interest in him.

“Nottingham Forest means everything to me, and this job that I do - from the day I walked in to where we are at now,” Cooper said. “The only thing that is important, apart from my family, in my life is this football club. That's where I am at.”

Cooper will be aiming to extend his side’s unbeaten home run in the Premier League on Sunday when they face Everton. Forest go into the game aiming to bounce back from last weekend’s 4-0 thumping at West Ham United.

Ahead of the weekend’s clash, the Reds sit 13th in the top-flight table, with their opponents four points below them, in 18th spot. Forest have gone eight league games without defeat on the banks of the Trent.
