Nottingham Forest fans have urged Steve Cooper to start summer signing Lewis O’Brien in midfield following the international break after he impressed again against Fulham.
The 23-year-old was one of the many new arrivals at the club during the summer transfer window, joining from Championship side Huddersfield Town. The midfielder started the first five Premier League games in midfield for Forest this season.
He was however dropped to the bench for the 3-2 loss against Bournemouth earlier this month, failing to make it onto the pitch during the game. O’Brien also found himself on the bench for the loss against Fulham two weeks later, but made a big impact when coming on for the final 20 minutes of the game.

The midfielder made his way onto the field with Forest 3-1 down vs Fulham. He scored his first Premier League goal for the club to half the deficit, but couldn’t help Forest to turn the game around.
His performance however did catch the eye of watching Forest fans. Many have now taken to social media to send a clear message to Cooper ahead of the next game after the international break, when the Reds travel to take on Leicester City.
Sam Crawford : We literally look a different team when O’Brien plays.
We miss him in so many ways when he’s not on the pitch but his ability to track back and prevent counter attacks has been BADLY missed in the past 2 games.
Get him on the pitch.
Sam : Lewis O'brien HAS to start every game.
Luke Mars : Lewis O’Brien is a must moving forward.
James Shepherd : Surely there is no coincidence we’ve put in somewhat poor performances when O’Brien hasn’t started (Fulham & Bournemouth).
Must start in future Stevie.
Olly Bausor : Calm, composed, always looking around and finding the space, moves the ball forward, wins the ball back in the right areas... Lewis O'Brien has got to start the next game surely! Does the role well, and if course bagged! Confidence will be up, and he's up for the fight!
Chris Kearney : Lewis O'Brien outstanding again when he eventually came on against Fulham. MOTM in 27 minutes. POTS for us so far.
Can't help but think what would have been had he played 90 minutes in our last two games.
Scott Harding : I think it's now time for Cooper to go for it, Dennis has to start against Leicester so does O'Brien and Lingard.. Mangala should be fit and so should Niakhate, we could look a totally different side in my opinion.
DZYB #9 : Him and Mangala together in that midfield over the remaining games keeps us up, in my opinion. Our lack of midfield control and presence has killed us the past few games.
Lewis Dry : First name on the team sheet every week.
