Steve Cooper hailed a “really important win” as Nottingham Forest toppled Coventry City 2-0 to move into the play-off spots.
The Reds were not at their best at the City Ground, and the Sky Blues had the makings of being tricky opponents. But Cooper’s side found a way to secure the three points with what proved to be a comfortable scoreline in the end.
Brennan Johnson bagged his 15th of the season in the first half. And James Garner doubled the hosts’ lead after the break, with Forest going fifth as they saw out the victory.
