Head coach Steve Cooper rued a lack of "belief" as Nottingham Forest failed to make the most of positive moments in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.
It was not the return to Premier League action the Reds had hoped for after the World Cup break, with defeat ending a three-match winning streak in all competitions. But Cooper felt his team should have caused their hosts more problems than they did.
The visitors had made a promising start at Old Trafford, but only had themselves to blame when they were left with an uphill battle. Two sloppy goals conceded in the space of three first-half minutes, as Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial found the net, gave Forest a mountain to climb.
