Steps fans left confused as Ian 'H' Watkins 'blocks everyone on Twitter' over Christmas

Steps fans are amongst dozens of baffled Twitter users after Ian 'H' Watkins went on a 'blocking spree' over the Christmas weekend – and even he's confused.

A swarm of accounts have reported being 'blocked' by the famous band member, 45, for absolutely "no reason" during the last couple of days.

Screenshots have been shared all over the popular Elon Musk-owned website as disgruntled fans were left confused by the social media snub.

"It seems half of Twitter is blocked by H from Steps," said one upset follower as dozens claimed Ian had 'blocked everyone' from his official page.

Since exploding on the pop music scene back in 1997, aside from selling millions of records, the five-piece group have also amassed a loyal-legion of fans.

But it seems that Ian has had enough of some fans, who have claimed the Welsh star has 'blocked' them on Twitter.

One person penned: “Sorry but if you're not blocked by H from Steps by now what are you even doing with your life?"

"Boxing Day: when we *all* discover that we are *all* blocked by H from Steps," a second person tweeted. Adding: "I’ve never ever interacted with him, not even once."

"Why am I blocked by H from Steps lol this is a wild discovery," another Twitter user mused.

Someone else wrote: "I don’t know why I’ve been blocked by H from Steps. To my knowledge I’ve never interacted with Ian H Watkins here. BTW I love Steps."

"I am #BlockedByHFromSteps and I honestly have no idea where to go with this information," a sixth viewer wrote.

Offering a confusing explanation, Ian has since spoken out on the 'blocking spree' but seems confused himself over the strange ordeal.

Replying to a now-deleted tweet on Monday (December 26) Ian wrote: "Hi James... I recently signed up for a clean up of 'bots' & 'phobes.'

"Apologies if the blocking offended... I didn’t do this manually! Merry Christmas."

It would seem Ian had used a social media service to remove some 'fake bot accounts' from his page in a clear-out ahead of the New Year.

The social media sweep had seemingly picked accounts on the site to block – not H himself.

The Mirror has contacted Ian's representatives for a comment.
