Stephen Robinson is convinced steering St Mirren through financial setbacks to reach the top-six ranks as his greatest achievement as a manager.
The Buddies boss has experienced plenty of success in the dugout, particularly at Motherwell when he led the Steelmen to two cup finals and European football.
The experienced gaffer was also part of the coaching staff that helped Northern Ireland reach the last 16 at Euro 2016.
But Robinson is adamant helping the Saints break their duck and finally finish in the top half of the Premiership in the post-split era, particularly when they’ve struggled so much financially off the park, stands as his best work to date.
Robinson told Renfrewshire Live Sport: “For me, it’s my biggest achievement.
“I’ve got to cup finals and worked at the European Championships with Northern Ireland and got into the last 16.
“But this has been the toughest challenge of my career, in terms of dealing with the finances and what I believed the club was going to do before we were hit with news of losses.
“We have had to strip the club bare and everyone stuck together.
“This group of boys have been amazing.
“We have a lot talented players but, more importantly, we have 22 good people and it’s nice to see the good guys do well in football for once.”
