Reality star Stephen Bear has been sentenced to 21 months in prison today after he was found guilty of revenge porn charges. The verdict was given back in December, following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
And today, the Celebrity Big Brother star appeared in court to be sentenced after being found guilty of voyeurism by a majority verdict and guilty to two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress by an unanimous verdict by a jury after he uploaded footage of himself and Love Island star Georgia Harrison having sex in his back garden.
Bear was accused of planning to film himself having sex with Harrison, 27, who has waived her right to anonymity, at his home in August 2020 and subsequently sharing the CCTV footage on his OnlyFans account without her consent.
Bear received 21 months in prison for sharing the video to Only Fans, with nine months for count 1 and six months for count 2, to run concurrently. Count 1 is a voyeurism charge, count 2 regards sending the video on WhatsApp to someone.
Prior to the sentencing, Bear arrived at court dressed all in black - an obvious contrast to the loud suits, fur coats and cane he sported during the trial.
Today he also donned dark sunglasses as he stopped to pose for selfies with fans and could be heard singing 'Lady In Red' at a journalist as he prepared to meet his fate, writes The Mirror.
Bear also stopped to record a video for his fans and was joined by his girlfriend Jessica Smith who also wore an all black outfit.
Defending Bear, Gemma Rose, said Bear's behaviour at the trial, was his way of dealing with the pressure of the case.
She described the reality TV world as "toxic" and pressured, and said Mr Bear's "behaviours" have allowed him to get more work.
"Clearly a very toxic environment he's found difficult to break away from," Ms Rose added.
She said Bear now wants to return to roofing, which he did before getting into TV. Ms Rose said Bear realised the "likelihood of a custodial sentence", but asked judge Christopher Morgan to impose a suspended setence.
She said a pre-sentencing report has diagnosed him with ADHD, anxiety and a depressive disorder, with ADHD dominant in his behaviour.
He had been found to have "issues of delusions of grandeur" and disorded thinking, with reports suggesting he has "detatchment from reality," Miss Rose told the court.
Bear was arrested in January 2021 on his birthday at Heathrow Airport following a trip to Dubai, and charged in May.
