On Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers opened up the 21-day window for tight end Pat Freiermuth to return from IR. Freiermuth was at practice on Wednesday and barring some unforeseen setback, the hope is that Freiermuth will be ready to play on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
Freiermuth has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. The hope is that the return of Freiermuth will spark this anemic passing offense.
The truth is the offense wasn’t great before Freiermuth got hurt and the Steelers offense seems to have forgotten about the tight end position completely. Freiermuth is a great talent and he came into 2023 off of a career year but his numbers have taken a big hit just like the rest of the skill players with the struggles of quarterback Kenny Pickett.
