Tackle Broderick Jones has taken the brunt of the flack after a lackluster performance in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ loss to the Buffalo Bills last week.
In Thursday’s press conference, Mike Tomlin had this to say about the maturity Jones has shown in the face of criticism:
We don’t care about criticism. That’s the world we live in. We’re professionals. His response to performance will be judged on his next performance.
Jones could have that opportunity Saturday against the Detroit Lions. Like last week, Tomlin stated that everyone healthy would play but didn’t specify whether Jones would be among them.
The second-year offensive lineman has been donning a brace since injuring his right elbow on the first play of the Steelers’ first training camp practice, but Jones has refused to use it as an excuse for his poor play.
