Our friends over at Touchdown Wire put out their new NFL power rankings after the 2023 NFL draft. Most pundits agree the Pittsburgh Steelers had a strong draft and the gang at TD Wire seems to really be among them.
They have the Steelers all the way up to No. 11 on their rankings after a draft that saw the team bolster both sides of the line of scrimmage in a big way. Here’s what they had to say about the ranking:
The elements are there for the Steelers to start contesting for the AFC North again with Kenny Pickett firmly entrenched under center. Najee Harris, George Pickens, and Pat Freiermuth provide an assortment of weapons. T.J. Watt should be at full strength on the edge. Factor in Mike Tomlin’s stability on the sidelines, and Pittsburgh should rebound.
The Steelers rallied in the second half of the 2022 season to finish 9-8, secure another non-losing season for head coach Mike Tomlin and almost snuck into the playoffs. The AFC North has gotten more competitive this offseason from top to bottom and looks to be the tightest race in the NFL.
