Things were already bad for the Pittsburgh Steelers on defense and it’s only gotten worse in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. Already down starting cornerback Donte Jackson, Pittsburgh saw cornerback Joey Porter Jr. go out in the middle of the first round with a calf injury. According to ESPN NFL reporter Brooke Pryor, Porter is questionable to return.
With Porter and Jackson out, the Steelers starting cornerbacks are James Pierre and Cory Trice Jr. This means Pittsburgh will be forced to abandon any sort of man coverage and just try and tread water in zone and hope the pass rush can keep the Ravens honest.
