This should not have to be said given the financial investment, but head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Deshaun Watson will be the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns in 2024.
Despite the strong production of Joe Flacco at the end of the season for the Browns, there is no question or hesitation about who will be under center for the team to start the 2024 season.
Stefanski also added that Watson’s rehab on the broken bone in his shoulder is going as planned. The head coach added, “I’m confident he will be ready to roll this Spring.”
It will, however, be interesting to see how much the Browns invest in a backup quarterback, and if that player will be Flacco, who started the last six games this season.
The Browns are set up for long-term success financially, how their roster is constructed, with the continuity of their coaching staff, and with the production of young players on the roster. How long the Browns will hang around, however, will be decided by the play of Watson in 2024 and beyond.
