State orders Karen Read to stand trial for murder and rejects her push to have some charges tossed after mistrial

A Massachusetts’ highest court rejected Karen Read’s bid to drop charges related to the death of her police officer boyfriend.

The court ruled Tuesday morning that it will not dismiss the charges of second-degree murder and leaving the scene — months after a judge declared a mistrial in July after a jury could not reach a verdict following eight weeks of testimony.
