St Mirren starlet Dylan Reid helped Scotland Under-17’s dramatically overturn a two-goal deficit to rescue a point against the Czech Republic.
The youth national side kicked off their UEFA Under-17 Championship Elite Round campaign yesterday afternoon at the Falkirk Stadium as they began their bid to secure a place in the finals in Israel.
Picking up his fifth cap, 16-year-old Reid and his teammates gave themselves a mountain to climb with the visitors going in two ahead at the break thanks to clinical finishes from defenders Miloš Pudil and Jan Paluska.
Rangers striker Rory Wilson continued his fine form for the Under-17’s when he drew his country within just one with 20 minutes left on the clock.
And deep into injury time St Mirren talent Reid showed sublime composure to slide in Wilson, who levelled with almost the last kick of the match.
Next up for Saints star Reid and his teammates is a tough clash with group favourites Germany this Saturday.
Kick off at the Falkirk Stadium is at 12pm, with the last of a triple header seeing head coach Brian McLaughlin’s men facing Georgia next Tuesday night (5.30pm).
