Airdrieonians have signed St Mirren goalkeeper Dean Lyness ahead of today's League One clash with Queen of the South.
The Diamonds, who are on a run of three straight defeats, welcome the Doonhamers to New Broomfield this afternoon and the 31-year-old could make his debut against Wullie Gibson's side.
The Englishman has had two spells with the Buddies, as well as featuring for Raith Rovers and Hearts previously.
He will provide competition for 18-year-old shot-stopper Alex Henderson who has had a baptism of fire at New Broomfield, having made his debut in a 6-0 defeat to Edinburgh City, as well as being between the sticks for the defeats to Alloa, Kelty and Montrose.
His high point came in the 5-0 win over Clyde last month, where he made a string of fine saves early in the game.
Announcing Lyness' arrival this morning, a club statement read: "We are delighted to announce the signing of 31-year-old English goalkeeper Dean Lyness.
"Dean goes straight into the match squad for today's visit of Queen of the South."
Ahead of today's game, player-boss Rhys McCabe said: “We’re in a bit of a slump just now, conceding a few goals - we’ll look to make that right.
“It’s about trying to build that level of consistency and performance.”
