A stalker who bombarded a Bristol woman with declarations of love has been jailed. Beka Ochigava would not take no for an answer and deluged his victim with unwelcome visits and messages, Bristol Crown Court heard.
Ochigava, 34, of Beaufort Road in St George, pleaded guilty to stalking between December 2020 and December last year. When arrested he told police he didn't think he had done anything wrong.
The recorder Mr David Chidgey jailed him for four months. He told Ochigava: "It is quite obvious the complainant was caused significant distress. I expect you realise that." Ochigava was handed a five-year restraining order banning him from contact with the woman.

Ian Fenny, prosecuting, said Ochigava declared his love for the woman via social media. He also turned up at her workplace and declared his love, the court heard.
On one occasion he arrived at her home with flowers and a love note. This concerned the woman when she knew Ochigava knew where she lived.
Mr Fenny said Ochigava followed the complainant in his car as she walked, revving his engine. On one visit to her work he questioned her about who she had been with the night before, and on another he was ejected with a struggle.
The complainant made an impact statement in which she said the stalking left her scared to go out and she changed work shifts as a result. She said she was always looking over her shoulder now.
Matthew Comer, defending, said: "He accepts he became obsessed with her. He tells me he has absolutely no intention of seeing her again."
