South Africa and Bulls winger Sbu Nkosi has not been seen for three weeks, it has emerged.
Reports in South Africa say neither the player's family or club have been able to contact him since November 14 amid concern about his well-being. He has been reported missing to police.
"All I can say is that we hope Sbu is at least keeping safe despite his seclusion," Edgar Rathbone, the Bulls' chief executive, told News24 on Saturday morning.
"We've been attempting tirelessly to make contact with him, but these efforts have been in vain to date. Everybody is really concerned."
Nkosi has not been named in either of the Vodacom Bulls’ matchday-23’s to face Welsh sides Ospreys and Cardiff, with no reason given for his absence.
The 26-year-old was supposed to be part of the wider Springboks touring party this autumn but suffered a rib injury at the end of October. He has scored nine tries in 16 Tests and was part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2019.
Nkosi was reportedly sent home early from the Bulls’ overseas United Rugby Championship tour back in October for breaking team protocols.
