Spotify Wrapped 2024: When does the tracking period end?

The end of the year is fast approaching and, for any users of Spotify, that means one thing: their Spotify Wrapped for 2024 is nearly here.

A staple since 2016, the marketing campaign allows listeners to discover and share the ins and outs of their listening habits, including their top five artists, songs, the number of minutes they’ve listened to and, as of last year, the city (anywhere around the globe) that shares your favourite songs and artists.

With new features typically added to keep users on their toes each year, many are still wondering when the Spotify Wrapped tracking period ends.

When does the tracking period for Spotify Unwrapped begin and end?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is still a bit of a mystery.

While it’s generally believed that tracking begins on January 1 each year, the end date is contested. In 2021, a source from Spotify told Newsweek that tracking ended in October, which gave the team enough time to prepare the information and data featured in the campaign. But, two years later, Spotify threw a spanner in the works when they responded to one Twitter user, claiming that tracking for Wrapped continued past October 31.

When will I receive my Spotify Wrapped this year?

Usually, Spotify releases Unwrapped at the end of November or the beginning of December.

Last year, it went live on November 29, in 2022 it came out on November 30, and the 2021 edition was released on December 1.

How do I find my Spotify Wrapped?

When users open Spotify on the day of Wrapped’s release, a banner and feed will be visible, allowing them to access their listening data for the year.

What else does Spotify Wrapped tell me?

As well as learning the details of individual listening habits, Spotify Wrapped will also share the platform’s wider data across the year, including the top five songs worldwide and the most popular artists and podcasts listened to.

In the UK, last year’s top streamed tracks on the platform included Sprinter by Dave and Central Cee, Flowers by Miley Cyrus, Kill Bill by SZA, Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2 by PinkPantheress, and Escapism feat. 070 Shake by RAYE.

When it came to heavy-hitting artists, Taylor Swift came out on top with more than 26.1 billion streams worldwide, while the most popular podcast of 2023 went to Joe Rogan’s The Joe Rogan Experience.
