RTE has announced the first guest for this week's Late Late Show, revealing that Ryan Tubridy will be joined by Spice Girl Mel C.
The girl band star will chat to Ryan about her newly released auto-biography, Who I Am. The book follows Mel's journey from her bedroom bedroom in north-west England to global stardom with The Spice Girls.
Mel, or Sporty Spice, is the last member of The Spice Girls to release an autobiography. Mel C, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, recently revealed that she was sexually assaulted during a hotel massage the night before the Spice Girls' debut performance in Turkey, something she writes about in the book.

While promoting the memoir with Elizabeth Day on her podcast How To Fail, the 48 year old performer said the experience left her feeling "violated, vulnerable and embarrassed". She explained that the experience came to her in a dream while while she was writing her memoir and she decided to include it in the book because it's "important for me to say it and to really deal with it and process it and for other people".
She explained: "I didn’t want to make a fuss but also I didn’t have time to deal with it. Because I didn’t deal with it at the time, I realised that I allowed that to be buried for years and years and years and then when I was writing the book it came to me in a dream. I woke up and it was in my mind."
"I was in an environment where you take your clothes off with this professional person, so there was so many thoughts and feelings, and I just thought I do want to talk about it because it has affected me," she added.
RTE will announce more Late Late Show guests later this week. Who I Am is available to purchase from book retailers now.
