Specsavers is celebrating 20 years of its “should’ve gone to” adverts by looking back at some of its most iconic quips.
The phrase has become a staple of British vocabulary over the last two decades, and has seen a host of memes appear after celebrities and brands find themselves in a sticky situation.
Many social media users claimed Dominic Cummings “should’ve gone to Specsavers” after his ill-fated trip to Barnard Castle, where he claimed to be “checking his eyesight”.
