Michigan State football’s fall in the weekly USA TODAY 1-134 re-rankings continued this week.
The Spartans have lost three straight games, and to no surprise, they have dropped in USA TODAY’s weekly rankings for all 134 college football teams. Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY dropped Michigan State seven spots to No. 71 nationally.
Of Big Ten teams, Michigan State is only ahead of three fellow league foes. Those would be Purdue (No. 113), UCLA (No. 107) and Northwestern (No. 88). Maryland is now right ahead of the Spartans at No. 70.
Michigan State is 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Big Ten play on the year. The Spartans are off this week and will return to the field against Iowa on October 19.
