Spain bowl Isle of Man out for TEN in record low T20 score for international match

Spain bowled out the Isle of Man national cricket team for just 10 runs in a record low score for a Twenty20 match. The two sides were meeting for the sixth time during the Isle of Man's tour of the country.

On Sunday they competed in two T20 international matches in one day. In the opening clash, the visitors racked up a respectable 132 runs for the loss of eight wickets from their 20 overs. In the second innings though it was a comfortable chase for Spain.

The home team knocked off the target with eight overs still to spare having lost just three wickets. Spain's openers did the damage early on as Shafat Ali Syed samshed 51 from just 23 balls, whilst his partner Mohammad Ihsan added 45 runs from 29.

It was their second match of the day though that caught the attention of the cricketing world.

The home team won the toss and chose to bowl ahead of match two, and it is more than fair to say it was the correct decision. The Isle of Man monumentally collapsed, as the travelling team were bowled out for just 10 runs across 8.4 overs of cricket.

Seven batsmen lost their wickets without scoring, as just four added runs into the scorebook. George Burrows, Luke Ward and Jacob Butler all scored two runs, whilst Joseph Burrows top scored with four.

The wickets for Spain were split across three bowlers, with Mohammad Kamran and Atif Mehmood brutally flying through the Isle of Man order. Both bowlers took four wickets each from the opening eight overs.

One bowling change was required, as Lorne Burns came into the attack but it did not take long for him to wrap it up. Burns himself went on to take the final two wickets, which came in his opening two balls, to wrap up the record-breaking innings.

In reply, Spain required just two legitimate deliveries to secure the remarkable victory, as Isle of Man top scorer Burrows first bowled a no ball. Ahmed then smashed two sixes from the next to balls to secure victory with 118 deliveries to spare.

Isle of Man, who are ranked 39th by the ICC, play sub-regional qualifiers for the T20 World Cup but have never made it to the next stage.
