Scientists say they’ve found the best way yet to measure how much the universe glows, and have revealed that space may not be as dark as we think.

The study was led by astrophysicists at the University of Colorado at Boulder and they took observations from NASA's New Horizons spacecraft, which is now nearly 5.5 billion miles from Earth.

British scientists who developed a skin cancer-treating drug are to receive £30 million in funding to continue their research.

The team based at the University of Dundee, was awarded the funding by the UK Government, which will enable them to continue their work for another five years.
