Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday slammed the Yogi government on several issues on the first day of the UP Assembly session. Akhilesh Yadav said that only the administration of UP and the bulldozer of the Yogi government are responsible for the death of mother and daughter in Kanpur Dehat.
Akhilesh Yadav, while going to the Assembly for the budget session, told reporters, “SP's demand for caste-based census is not new. Even earlier, SP and many other parties have demanded this. 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' is possible only when caste-based census is conducted in the state."Significantly, 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' is the slogan of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Senior party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath often refer to this slogan.
Attacking the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the SP President said, “He (Chief Minister) has come from another state. He has nothing to do with the caste-based census in Uttar Pradesh. People will get their due respect only after the census is done on the basis of caste, otherwise the dreams of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar will remain unfulfilled.
The former Chief Minister said that the recent incident of death of a mother-daughter by fire in a hut during encroachment removal operation in Kanpur Dehat was extremely unfortunate and only the government and its bulldozer were responsible for the tragic death of the mother-daughter duo.
