Nottingham Forest fans have laughed off suggestions that manager Steve Cooper is under consideration by relegation rivals as their managerial search continues.
The Premier League ’s bottom club parted company with former Luton Town boss Nathan Jones on Sunday after a 2-1 loss against 10-man Wolves at St Mary’s. The manager lasted just eight Premier League games, with the Saints coming out as the winning side on just one occasion, losing the other seven.
Southampton are now said to be in talks with former Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch over a potential quick return to the Premier League after he was dismissed from Leeds just last week. However, the Daily Mail claim that Torino manager Ivan Juric and Forest boss Cooper are also ‘options’.

Cooper is said to have been the subject of "strong interest" from Southampton in the past. But he is unlikely to leave the City Ground having put pen to paper on a new contract with the club earlier this season despite finding himself under pressure after a poor start.
The Forest boss has already made his stance on a potential move away from the City Ground clear, outlining how much he is "loving" his time at the club.
The reported Southampton interest has also prompted a response from Forest fans on social media. Here’s what just some had to say.
Sam Crawford : Right sorry there is really only one word for this and that's 'laughable'.
Nathan Byrom : Absolutely zero chance this happens.
Ollie : He wants premier league football next season not Championship.
ChrisPDuck : Why would he leave us to go to them?
Harpham : And we’re considering Mourinho…
David Stevenson : And I’m considering swapping me 3 bed end of terrace with Windsor Castle.
Adam : Deluded would be a massive understatement if they think they could get Cooper.
Taz : Dream on @SouthamptonFC.
Bravo43 : Forest are considering a front 3 of Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo. More chance of that happening.
