A Nottingham Forest fan has brought some gentle humour to the inbetween-seasons period after a sarcastic joke was misinterpreted as a genuine suggestion.
Forest are preparing for life in the Premier League again after a 23-year absence. The release of the fixtures has made it feel slightly more real for Reds fans, although Steve Cooper is still working on making his first signing of the new Premier League era at the City Ground.
The Reds' promotion means they do not have a clear rival as their Wembley celebrations were preceded a few weeks earlier by Derby County suffering relegation into League One. Leicester City are the nearest club to Forest in the East Midlands, but Forest fan account @dalesilvermat3 jokingly tweeted that Southampton should be the Reds' new rivals while in the top-flight.
