South Lanarkshire school holidays for 2023 to 2024 have been approved by councillors.
At the Education Resources Committee meeting yesterday (November 15), elected members gave the green light to the school holidays and in-service days for the next school year.
In 2023, teachers will return on Monday, August 14. That day and the following one (Tuesday, August 15) will be in-service days, with pupils returning to school on Wednesday, August 16.
The September weekend will run from Friday to Monday, September 22 to 25.
And the October break will be from Monday to Friday, October 16 to 20, with pupils returning to school on Monday, October 23.
There will be an in-service day on Monday, November 13.
Schools will close at 2.30pm on Friday, December 22, and reopen on Monday, January 8, 2024.
The February break will be on Monday and Tuesday, February 12 and 13, and an in-service day will be held on Wednesday, February 14.
Schools will close at 2.30pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024, for spring break and reopen on Monday, April 15, 2024, .
There will be an in-service day on Thursday, May 2, 2024, and May Day is on Monday 6.
A local holiday will be held on Friday and Monday, May 24 and 27, 2024. Lanark schools will close on Thursday and Friday, June 6 and 7, 2024.
Schools will close at 1pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, for the summer break.
