South Korean Box Office: 'Exhuma' Dominates Fourth Consecutive Weekend

Exhuma korean film

The South Korean box office continues to be dominated by the dark drama 'Exhuma,' which has maintained its stronghold for the fourth consecutive weekend. The film, centered around two shamans, a feng shui master, and a mortician trying to unravel mysterious events affecting a U.S.-based Korean family, raked in an impressive $5.80 million over the weekend, capturing a significant 67% share of the total market. This brings its total earnings to a remarkable $67.3 million after almost a month in theaters, making it the highest-grossing film of the year so far and the fourth highest since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With over 9.30 million tickets sold, 'Exhuma' is on track to surpass the coveted ten million admissions mark, a benchmark for blockbuster success in Korea. Following closely behind, 'Dune 2' secured the second spot once again, earning $1.73 million over the weekend and accumulating a total of $13.6 million in revenue since its release.
