RAIPUR: Reiterating its commitment towards Swachh Bharat Mission, South East Central Railway (SECR) is preparing for a mega sapling plantation programme for the beautification of railway area/premises at station approaches along the track. The SECR is planning to plant medicinal and aromatic plants for multiple reasons to keep the track clean, protect passengers from stench and create a captivating view for passengers.
Even as the SECR has plans to plant sapling along 2400 km long tracks of the SECR, initially 11 stations in Raipur division have been identified for the same, according to railway official. The 11 stations identified for the development of gardens/plantation are Chakarabhata, Belha, Dagori, Nipania, Hathbandh, Tilda, Baikunth, Saraswati Nagar, Mandir Hasaud, Lakholi and Dallirajhara. tnn
