South African women's team set to tour India in June-July

MUMBAI: There's more international cricket in store for the Indian women's team, currently involved in a five-match T20I series in Bangladesh.

While an official announcement regarding this should be made soon by the BCCI, TOI has learnt that the South African women's team is set to tour India from June 9 to July 9 for a one-off Test, three WODIs and three T20Is.

"All the matches will be played in the southern part of India -mostly Bangalore and Chennai-since it will be raining in all the other parts of the country as the monsoons would've arrived by then," a source in the BCCI said.

The South Africa women's team last played a Test in India back in November 2014 in Mysore, with India winning that match by an innings & 34 runs. India had hosted a Test each against England and Australia in December last year.

After hosting South Africa, the Indian women’s team will go for the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka (starts from July 19) and then the T20 World Cup in September-October in Bangladesh.
